I care first about whether the underlying problem is important enough to matter in the real world. Strong founders are often flexible on solution, but not casual about the problem itself.

Founder quality and domain credibility
The founder or founding team has to stand out as people: how they think, how they operate under uncertainty, and whether their background gives them real credibility in the space. Judgment matters, but so does domain depth.

Structural edge
I want to understand why this business can become difficult to displace, not just why it looks timely today.
